This weekend, we are celebrating the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Katica Farm; this is, on the one hand, the feast of the Purification of the Virgin Mary, and on the other, the feast of the Presentation of Jesus, as it was on this day that he was dedicated to God. A tradition associated with this is the blessing of candles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to popular belief, if the weather is fine on this day, spring will be late in coming. People used to say: \u201eOn Candlemas Day, \u201dBetter a wolf howling through the window than the sun coming out!\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n
