\nDays passed in this way, and they had almost resigned themselves to their bleak future when the sound of heavy footsteps and voices could be heard.
\nFirst, the little ones and the newborns disappeared. They were grabbed by the neck and taken away.
\n\u2018What\u2019s happening? Where are they taking our young ones?\u2019 \u2013 a wave of anxiety swept through those left behind. The despair grew as it was the mothers\u2019 and the elderly\u2019s turn. The adult animals fled in terror and hid. If they couldn\u2019t save the others, at least they themselves would survive.
\nBUT WHAT EXACTLY????? They had no idea; they just found the others\u2019 disappearance suspicious.
\nThen, that very same day, they too were \u201etrapped\u201d. They were ruthlessly rounded up and taken away. They made the journey to their new winter quarters, utterly dejected.
\nIn a huge, warm place strewn with fresh straw, they spotted their companions, whom they had thought lost, and were overcome with joy.
