Terms and Conditions for Online Accommodation Bookings

  1. Confirmed, finalised booking: the Contract concluded between the parties on the basis of the online booking
  • in the case of online credit card purchases, by means of a confirmation sent by email following the finalisation of the booking,
  • Following an online booking, payment by bank transfer (bank transfer, SZÉP card), the booking is confirmed upon receipt of the confirmation email sent after the booking has been finalised, and remains valid from the start of the service until departure from the Experience Centre.
  • When booking online, you have the option to specify a preference for a family apartment block or a guesthouse; the accommodation actually provided is as set out in the final, confirmed booking.
  1. Place of performance of the Services: the Katica Tanya Experience Centre and any other venues provided by it accommodation.
  1. Booking and confirming accommodation:
  • in writing only (info@katicatanya.hu (to an email address) or via an online form.
  • Any information, quotations or details provided to the Guest by a member of staff at Katica Tanya, whether verbally or by telephone, in any form whatsoever does not qualify as booking.
  • A service contract initiated via online booking is available exclusively on the Service Provider’s website (katicatanya.hu) is concluded upon receipt of a written confirmation from the Service Provider in respect of an online booking or purchase initiated by the Customer, and subject to the terms and conditions set out therein,  and thus a confirmed booking, secured by an advance payment, shall be deemed to be a contract concluded in writing (hereinafter: the Contract).
  • Any amendment and/or addition to the Contract requires a written agreement (email, signed hard copy) approved by the Parties. Any verbal statement, agreement or amendment, or the Service Provider’s verbal confirmation thereof, shall not constitute a contract.
  1. Accommodation charges for young children, extra beds:
  • When booking accommodation, no separate accommodation fee is payable for children aged 0–2 if they sleep in a cot.
  • Extra beds can only be provided in certain types of accommodation.
  • Requests for extra beds and cots must be agreed with the Service Provider in writing in advance, at the time of booking.
  1. Accommodation booking (service) deposit, finalising the booking:
  • The Service Provider makes the provision of the accommodation booking service conditional upon advance payment; in the case of online bookings, the amount payable is displayed on the website when the booking is finalised. The advance payment can be made in cash, by bank transfer, using an OTP SZÉP card, or by online credit card payment.
  • Payment for charges in addition to the accommodation booking deposit can be made in cash or using SZÉP cards (OTP/MKB/K&H) at the Experience Centre, which is also the check-in point for your accommodation.
  • The service deposit paid during the online booking is intended solely to secure the accommodation booking and amounts to at least 30% of the total booking cost.
  • In the case of bank transfers following an online booking or payment by OTP SZÉP card, the customer has 2 working days to transfer the deposit required to secure the booking.
  • Confirmed booking: The Service Provider will confirm the finalisation of every online booking via the within 2 days of receipt of the service deposit, by sending the details of the final booking to the email address provided.
  1. Cancellation and amendment terms and conditions:
  • Bookings for the period between 15 May and 30 September of the relevant year may be cancelled without penalty by 15 April. In such cases, the Service Provider shall refund the advance payment made by the Guest, less the cost of the bank transfer.
  • To request cancellation of an accommodation booking: please send an email to info@katicatanya.hu, stating the details of the booking you wish to cancel (arrival and departure dates, name of the person who made the booking, and type of accommodation booked), and, if you wish to claim a refund of the advance payment, please also provide your bank account number.
  • In the event of cancellations made outside the time limit specified above, the Service Provider is entitled to retain the advance payment transferred to it, which was required and paid for the provision of the service, as a cancellation fee. If the Service Provider is able to sell the cancelled accommodation to another Guest, it shall refund the advance payment to the Guest who cancelled the booking.
  • In the event of a request to amend a booking for which a deposit has already been paid, the Service Provider reserves the right to retain the deposit received for the original booking as a cancellation fee, or to refund it, depending on whether the Service Provider suffers any loss or disadvantage as a result of the change to the booking.
  1. House rules and other regulations:
  • The house rules governing the use of the Experience Centre and its associated accommodation facilities are set out in the www.katicatanya.hu/letoltheto-dokumentumok/ is included on the page.
  • Visiting with pets, terms and conditions for booking accommodation:
    • Pets are allowed on a lead within the Adventure Centre, but unfortunately we cannot permit pets in the indoor communal areas, such as the restaurant, the slide house and the Adventure Cave play area. In light of this, it is worth considering where and with whom your pet will be spending the day.
    • There may be animals roaming freely both around the accommodation and on the farm; it is worth bearing this in mind and taking care when planning your pet’s stay. Your pet must not be left locked up alone and unsupervised at the accommodation.
    • Pets may be brought to the accommodation with the consent of all other guests staying there at the same time. (In the case of a stay in shared accommodation – such as a guesthouse – we are unable to accommodate pets in a way that does not disturb other guests.) Please do not allow your pet onto furnished surfaces. Please bring your own rug or bedding for your pet. Pets must not be left unattended at any accommodation.
    • The same rules apply to picking up pet waste as those that apply in public spaces.
