Attractions by the lake: 

On the glistening water’s surface, a fleet of colourful watercraft awaits you to cut through the waves. On the sandy beach volleyball court, in the heat of the game, you can shake off the water droplets splashing onto you from the brightly coloured flowers in the water playground. On our bouncy hills, you can bounce about in the cool shade of the sun sails for as long as your legs will carry you. Once you’ve thrown in the towel here, you’ll definitely need one after trying out the water slide – which you can buy at our little lakeside cottage. If you’d like to lose yourself in more than just a sea of attractions, pop into our 500 m² ‘Bolyongó’ giant maze. As everyone needs a bit of a rest, the whole family can set off on a tractor tour on our ‘Matyi’ route, from where you can watch our horses and donkeys grazing peacefully. For a more adventurous ride, we invite the little ones to join our barrel-chase ride, which they can even steer themselves. 

Experience Centre:

In the sweltering summer heat, the Experience Centre’s complex of brick buildings – which exudes simplicity whilst embodying traditional values – offers some respite. In the first section of the tunnel connecting the indoor attractions, you’ll come across the Adventure Cave – a surprisingly large space that’s almost invisible from the outside.
Adventure Cave:
In the adventure cave, you’ll find one thrilling attraction after another, most of which are free to use once you’ve bought your ticket. The colourful climbing walls tower invitingly in one corner; anyone weighing at least 15 kg can climb on walls of varying styles and levels of difficulty here.  You’ll need a change of shoes for the climbing walls, so make sure you’ve got them with you if you’re popping round! The climbing walls can now be tried out at an introductory price with a 25% discount, for a special price of 1,490 Ft!
In the other corner, children bouncing about provide a cheerful sight in the trampoline hall, where they can even spice up the experience with a game of trampoline basketball on the more challenging course.  The central part of the cave is dedicated to table games – you can while away the time playing table football – whilst upstairs you can try out lots of new skill and logic games on the tables. Teams can go all out on the mini-bowling alley. The winner takes all in this friendly game. This game comes with a special prize: you can pay for it using Ladybird loyalty points, or buy a team ticket for a total of 1900 Ft, allowing four of you to compete.

Giant playhouse and slide:

Our water slide park offers endless fun for all ages, come rain or shine. The bravest can start straight away on the red drop slide, whilst the more timid can steel their nerves on the rainbow family slide. For those who aren’t quite brave enough for the red slide but are too daring for the rainbow one, we recommend the blue ball pool slide. The separate areas for adults, children’s play and toddlers, spread over three levels, welcome three generations eager to relive their childhood.
Lovagvár:
If our guests would like to be transported back to the magic of the Middle Ages, then head for the knight’s castle! This palisade castle, built in the style of the 13th century, invites you on a real journey back in time. At weekends, you can try out the catapult, which we use to fire stone balls in the afternoons and fireballs on Saturday evenings. On weekends, you can also have a go at archery and discover the games children used to play in days gone by. 

Fans of more modern games can hurtle down the green slopes on snow tubes, do a lap or two on pedal go-karts, or even shoot foam balls at the opposing team in a game of ‘Hit the Target’.

We bring traditional ways of life to life at the weekend by kneading and baking bread in a wood-fired oven – anyone who’s willing to roll up their sleeves can join in. You can also get up close and personal with the traditional animals of our ancestors during our group petting sessions, but as well as native animals, we also have meerkats and llamas, who watch our guests with equal curiosity as the guests watch them. Don’t miss out on the meerkat feeding session – it’s a really cute experience!

Milking a cow can be a fitting way to round off an active day – not only can you watch it, but you can also take part and have a sip of the cow’s milk you’ve milked yourself.

At the Katica Tanya Adventure Centre in the tiny Somogy village of Patca, this idyllic setting awaits visitors. Despite the growing blanket of snow, this playground paradise, nestled amongst the hills, is easily accessible even in winter. 
The pulik living on the farm greet our arrival with delight. A small, colourful wooden train awaits its passengers in front of the entrance. And from the peep-hole, the kind farmer and his goat smile at us. The uniform whitewashed walls of the entire complex evoke the simplicity and purity of old village life. Upon entering through the door, smiling hosts welcome the visitors, who are then set off on their own journey of discovery, equipped with a map. 
In the cosy reading corner, the warm bench of the tiled stove awaits the flushed children, soaked through from snowball fights and sledging. The noticeboard, crammed with newspaper articles and letters of thanks, rightly reflects that progress never stops here, and that we’ve come to the very best place. 

ADVENTURE CAVE

An adventurous tunnel leads to the newest play centre, where there are countless opportunities to spend the day actively. Air hockey, table football, table tennis and billiards await fans of traditional games. Those who enjoy a mental challenge can put themselves to the test with logic puzzles. Anyone wishing to burn off excess energy through physical activity will find exactly what they’re looking for here. On the indoor trampolines, you can do more than just bounce up and down – they’re a favourite with young and old alike. The mini-bowling alley is designed specifically for children, so every member of the family can have a go at this brilliant game that requires skill and concentration. And whilst we’re on the subject of sports, conquering the 8-metre-high climbing walls – which come in various levels of difficulty – is a workout that engages every muscle, and one that requires forward thinking to succeed. As it’s all about spending quality time together here, „competing pairs” can also make their way up the tandem climbing walls, helping each other along the way. 

PLAYHOUSE

Katica Tanya is an excellent choice even when it’s cold outside or raining. 
The indoor play centre and slide complex offers enjoyable recreation for all age groups. There is a play area for toddlers, as well as play mazes for children and adults. On the red slide, the more daring can experience the thrill of freefall, whilst the more timid can slide down the blue slide into a sea of balls, or glide down the rainbow-coloured slopes on a mat. 

RESTAURANT

All that playing and running about works up an appetite. It’s non-stop between midday and six o’clock a wide variety of dishes The restaurant offers a menu that takes special dietary requirements into account. High chairs and feeding chairs are available for the little ones. 
As well as plenty of opportunities for play, a whole host of craft activities await those with creative hands. Through seasonal activities that bring folk traditions to life, our children can learn the secrets of baking bread and langalló, make a pine tree from pine cones, or a reindeer from a cork. They can learn about the wisdom of our ancestors, take an active part in milking cows, and get a taste of an environmentally conscious way of life. 

PET PETTING AREA

At the small animal enclosure, visitors can get up close and personal with farmyard animals and unusual species not native to our country with animals. Experienced animal carers tell us about the animals that live here. And anyone who has really taken a liking to them will have the chance to look after them during the evening feeding.
It is no secret that the creators of the experience centre intend for visitors to return home not only with a memorable experience, but also enriched with useful knowledge and a more environmentally conscious outlook

But the most important thing of all is that our visitors can choose from an even wider range of options. This weekend, you can once again try our world-champion hot dog and our NB1-standard chips! If you’re feeling peckish or thirsty, just pop over to the little cottage by the lake, and you’ll be ready to go skipping, boating or wandering around again!

If there’s too much to take in and not enough time, then your leisure time won’t serve its purpose; it’ll just turn into a hectic morning. Katica Tanya expertly combines these two things. Visitors have no other task than to free up some time and head to the Experience Centre. 

EXPERIENCE CENTRE:

Here, everyone can choose at reception, depending on the time slots available, which programswho can or would like to take part. Nothing is compulsory; everything is optional. Those who have a whole day to spare can head straight for the giant play and slide centre, where they’ll find a variety of slides. The bravest can start straight away on the red ‘thrill’ slide, whilst the more timid can steel their nerves on the rainbow family slide. For those who aren’t quite brave enough for the red one but are already too daring for the rainbow one, the blue ball pit slide is recommended. Play areas for adults and children on three levels await those wishing to relive their childhood. 
At weekends, you can try your hand at baking bread and langalló in a traditional oven. You can follow the process from start to finish – from kneading right through to the creation of fresh, crispy bread or langalló. 
Special days As part of this series of events, those keen to get creative can look forward to at least four different craft activities each weekend, all themed around that particular weekend. 
Inside, there are a number of games available – subject to a deposit – including table football, billiards, air hockey and table tennis.
One of our most popular outdoor games is TelibeFind, where you can fight huge sponge ball wars with family or friends. 
In our ‘Knockout’ game, everyone can show just how good their reflexes are and how persistent they are. 
On our snow tube slides, our guests can whizz down slopes suitable for all ages, surrounded by the hills of Somogy. 
Those who long to be close to animals will also find what they’re looking for. The small animal enclosure welcomes visitors to come and stroke the animals at least three times a day. Visitors to the Katica farm who are interested can take part in a milking demonstration in the afternoons and have a go themselves: who dares to hold a real cow’s udder and taste the freshly milked milk? 

OUR VEHICLES:

The pedal go-kart tracks are open to speed enthusiasts. On your own or in pairs, for a race or just for fun? Anyone can have a go on our steam-powered karts. For those who aren’t keen on „bread steam” but are looking for a real thrill, the Matyi train „racing” along the track around the farm, or the barrel-chasing ride, will be a refreshing experience.

LAKESIDE:

From spring to late autumn, a host of watercraft awaits visitors on the lakeshore. You could almost get lost amongst the vast array: water bikes, pedalos and a whole fleet of boats are all waiting to cut through the waves. Those who aren’t keen on the watercraft but would still like to „walk” on the water can confidently try the hand-operated ferry or the pontoon bridge made up of wobbly sections. Anyone who simply wants to be in the middle of the lake can walk across the beautiful wooden bridge and find themselves on the small island covered in willow trees. On the lakeshore, beneath the shade of sun sails, you can bounce around on our huge jumping hills and trampolines and catch a glimpse of the shimmering water’s surface from a „bird’s-eye view”. For those who love a bit of a mystery, we recommend our 500 m² Bolyongó maze, where you can search for the hidden letter punches. In the sweltering summer heat, the water park is a real oasis. Colourful play structures splashing pleasantly cool water provide a refreshing escape. 

FOREST ROPE COURSE:

Even the journey there is a great day out in itself. We can meander our way up through the cows, along the tops of green hillsides, until we reach our destination. There are several different runs to choose from, suited to different age groups. The truly brave can put themselves to the test on the longest cable-assisted slides in South Transdanubia.

You can take part in the farm’s ever-changing, bustling life. One ordinary afternoon, one of the gentle, tame donkeys took it into its head to wander cheerfully amongst the people sitting on the terrace, and when the children gathered round, it posed for them, right there with them, in complete calm, showing off its photogenic face. Programs

‘What is there to do at the Katica Farm?’ – this is the question on the minds of those who are not yet familiar with the wide range of services on offer.
A programs They are not only tailored to the current season and traditions, but also, for example, to the wide-ranging needs of visitors, whilst also adapting to external circumstances. Alongside the regular programmes, the daily craft workshops – which are only available on that particular day – add colour to the day; it’s often hard to choose between them, as time flies by so quickly on the farm. Time flies at least twice as fast in the world of the slides, but it also slips by easily out in the open air amongst the animals. 
It’s worth taking a good look at the programme schedule, as most events are repeated, giving guests the chance to catch the next one if they miss the first.
More than 90% of the activities can be enjoyed with a single admission ticket; only a few programmes, such as creative T-shirt painting, horse riding or wax hand moulding, incur an additional charge. Separate tickets can also be purchased for the forest zip lines for those who’d like to give them a go. The programmes with a separate charge can also be paid for using Kiskatica loyalty points. It’s definitely worth keeping an eye on the little ladybirds here, as with their help you can sign up for further rounds of ‘Kiütlek’, the barrel ride and the Matyi train.
When you visit Katica Farm, the first thing you’ll notice is that every square metre invites you to play. Children are free to explore the ten-hectare site, marvelling at new things, the unknown, each other’s skills and the colourfulness of the world.

Restaurant

This diversity is also reflected in our restaurant’s menus. Our guests can enjoy a variety of home-style, traditional Hungarian flavours when they try our dishes our dishesetc. From midday until six in the evening, we welcome those who are hungry, those who find the mouth-watering aromas hard to resist, and our regulars.

Nestled amongst the Zselic Hills, Katica Tanya is the ideal venue for school trips lasting one or more days.

Suitable for accommodating 71 people tourist lodge It welcomes guests in a peaceful setting. Its facilities make it suitable for groups wishing to cater for themselves. In addition, there are a further 6 units, each accommodating 8 people tree house also offers accommodation close to nature. The oven and fireplace next to the guest house is ideal for baking bread, bacon and cooking. You can also enjoy your meal outdoors on the covered terrace.

Guests arriving as a group can request three meals a day, choosing from up to three different set menus. In my own kitchen They take care of the catering, so food intolerances are also taken into account when preparing the meals.
 

Thanks to the area’s outstanding natural features, the forest – with its diverse flora – is immediately accessible and can be easily explored along the designated Katica trail. Our route takes us through gullies and past a silver linden grove to a steep loess cliff, which serves as a habitat for birds and burrowing animals. As we descend into the valley, a carpet of bright green horsetail unfolds before us along the stream bank. In the gully, we can observe the wallowing spots and tracks of wild animals. 
On our return, we can reflect on what we’ve seen in the spacious lounge as part of a fun-filled lesson. In this quiet little village, we can let even the youngest children play freely with complete peace of mind. A football pitch awaits young people keen to play sport. There is also the opportunity to try your hand at horse riding and horse care. During the animal care programme, everyone can feel a little bit connected to the residents of the petting zoo and learn how to milk a cow. For those who aren’t afraid of a real challenge, there are forest rope courses, slides and climbing walls to enjoy. Instructors are on hand to help visitors find their way around the courses, which are tailored to different age groups. 

Those who choose one of the most popular programmes, „In the Footsteps of Medieval Knights”, can take part in a journey back in time. During this unusual history lesson, they can don armour, practise jousting, learn the basics of archery from the friars in their habits, and try their hand at throwing battle stars – a fun activity for young and old alike.  During the „Fun Folk Games” session, they can discover a range of amusing games from the days before computers, where a good time is guaranteed. Everyone will look back fondly on these shared experiences. 

There are countless other opportunities for casual leisure activities within the adventure centre. Those looking to burn off some excess energy can make use of a number of trampolines, jumping mats and two bouncy hills. Driving enthusiasts can take a spin in go-karts. In the ‘Telibe Találda’ game, you can shoot at the opposing team’s camp with foam balls. You can get lost time and time again in the mazes. And on the outdoor slides, you can whizz down the steep slopes on snow tubes. On a hot summer’s day, the water playground offers a pleasant way to cool off, where nobody minds if you accidentally splash them. When it’s time to dry off, you can hit the ball around on the beach volleyball court. 

Even if the weather’s bad, there’s no need to worry!

The multi-generational indoor play and slide centre welcomes everyone with its play mazes and three different types of slides. In addition, there are numerous you’ll find an indoor game: You can play air hockey, billiards or table football with your friends. With dozens of board and table games to choose from, you’re sure to find one you’ll enjoy. And from the craft programme guide, you can choose from a wealth of creative and traditional activities. 

Evenings at Katica Farm can be just as eventful, whether you’re setting off on an organised night-time tour or simply fancy discovering the secrets of the starry sky. The telescope presentation is particularly spectacular thanks to the absence of light pollution in the Zselic sky.

As you roam the picturesque landscape, you’ll find something interesting, something you’ve never seen before, and an entertaining experience in every nook and cranny. Together, you can play carefree, laugh, compete and draw strength from one another.

A fleet of watercraft awaits on the lakeshore, just waiting to be tamed. In the winding maze, the whole family can become detectives, searching for the letter-punch cards. The bouncy hills and trampolines are the equivalent of a proper cardio workout. In the heat of summer, the children can have a proper splash party in the water play area, whilst mum and dad watch them from the cool shade under the sun sails. The ‘Telibe Találda’ can be the scene of huge family battles, provided everyone’s up for a bit of a fight. From the ‘Kiütlek’ game, the little ones can proudly wave to their parents – after all, they can jump the highest in the world. On the slides, young and old alike can whizz down, leaving their worries behind and losing themselves in the joyful relaxation of the weekend. At the petting zoo, everyone can get up close to a little creature dear to their heart, and as a real treat, they can watch how meerkats feed. If the family is looking for something a bit more laid-back, they can bake langalló or bread at the weekend. From lighting the oven right through to the fresh, crispy bread coming out of the oven, you can play an active part in the programme, where everyone can bring out their inner chef. At craft workshops, children’s imaginations can run wild as they create things together with their parents. 
If your family loves adventure, the weekend stone-throwing and fireball-throwing events are definitely the place to be. Whilst Dad winds up the catapult, the children can cheer him on with proud applause. Through these light-hearted folk games, children and adults alike can discover how to have fun without having to „push” each other. In the cool of the forest, those who overcome their own fears on the forest rope course – the longest in SouthernTransdanubia and admire the spotted backs of the cows grazing on the beautiful green slopes.

And after all these adventures, the family gets hungry. The restaurant From midday until 6 pm, we welcome hungry diners with home-style, traditional flavours. À la carte dishes can also be ordered as half portions. We also offer a children’s menu for our younger guests.

However, as soon as guests arrive at Katica Farm, it is as if time stands still for a moment, and then, at the end of the day, they suddenly realise: it has flown by. That’s what free time is like…

Some people relax actively, others passively, depending on what helps them unwind. At Katica Farm, both types of relaxation are available. You don’t have to be active; you can simply take in the sights, relax in the meadow on a warm summer’s day, and just watch as the children slide down the slide, laugh and chase each other. You can simply sink into one of the beanbag chairs at the edge of the playhouse and peek out from there now and then when the others shout: ‘Look at this, I’ve had such a brilliant idea – just look what I can do, what I dare to do! True, there are perhaps even more opportunities for active play. The children can be brave, independent, creative, even a bit fussy when they’re tired, and then cheerful, carefree, playful, inquisitive and curious again; they can be passive, and active. In short, they can be free, but above all, they can truly be children.
The Knights’ Weekend, ‘Kiütlek’, giant slides, a funfair, trampolines, bouncy hills, a water playground, ‘Telibe-találda’, football billiards, the Matyi train, the barrel-chasing ride, and animal care – these are just a few of the highlights that immediately spring to mind when anyone thinks of Katica Tanya.
The ‘Special Days’ at the weekend feature all the attractions mentioned above; in addition, visitors can take part in cow milking, young and old alike can stretch their legs on the go-kart tracks, and a game of tag can get underway. For a change of pace, every weekend Visitors can also get creative whilst putting their dexterity to the test. From the world of fantasy, they can pop over to the play and slide area, then take a detour from there to relax by the old machinery. Before the balloon battle, why not take a short train ride, or hop on the barrel train to visit the horses, have a look at the goats, cattle and donkeys, and have a nuzzle with with Morzsa the dog, who remains unwaveringly loyal to every lovely guest who has ever scratched his ear. The next stop could be the lakeside playground.
Finding your way out of the maze is a challenge, as is crossing the pontoon bridge or travelling on the hand-operated ferry. Mastering the watercraft is no mean feat either; you have to work together, just as you do when steering the DINO carriage. It sounds simple, but practice makes perfect, as you need a bit of patience with this mischievous contraption. The lake and its surroundings are the most effective way to induce a pleasant sense of tiredness, though the cableways and the giant slides, 190 and 120 metres long respectively, are no slouches in this regard either.
As a result, after a short stroll to wind down, the in a restaurant We can recharge our batteries once again. Guests have the option of à la carte dining in the restaurant, which caters to a wide range of tastes. In addition to set group menus, special requests from groups and parties of friends staying for several days are also catered for. There is also the option to prepare your own snacks. At Telibe-Találda, they can wage epic battles: boys against girls, boys against girls: a „challenge” worth repeating. In the „I’ll Knock You Out” game, jumping for all they’re worth to decide who’s the class champion: madly good fun. On the pontoon bridge bobbing on the surface of Katica Lake, escorting the girls across like a brave hero: chivalry. Getting the hand-operated ferry to the other side as quickly as possible, thereby proclaiming yourself the János Erős of the modern age: triumph. Setting a „Guinness” record on the lakeside jumping mounds, and then breaking that record: a challenge. Throwing a massive water-splashing party on the water playground and getting a lovely tan in the sun: happiness. Organising and running go-kart races: competence. To storm the knight’s castle and rescue the class princesses: a mighty heroic deed. To spot the letter-punchers as quickly as possible in the wandering maze and lead the team to victory: glory. If a summer downpour catches the team out, playing frantic games of billiards, table football, air hockey and table tennis: fun. Conquering ‘Everest’ in the form of climbing walls in the new Adventure Cave, and experiencing the sensation of freefall: courage. And last but not least, jumping on countless trampolines whilst feeling the light of the setting sun and the scent of freshly mown grass: tranquillity.

On a night-time adventure, you can listen to the deafening silence of the Zselic Forest, discover a few plants commonly found in the kitchen, and search for the footprints of nocturnal wildlife. At our craft workshops They can create a lasting memento in the form of a tie-dyed T-shirt, a pottery figurine to take home, or a felt toy. During sessions of light-hearted folk games, they can get a taste of the atmosphere of these amusing games, which make use of traditional village tools. At the archery session, they can find out whether they would have made a good Robin Hood or not. 
And last but not least, during those few days they may be struck by the environmentally conscious a breath of fresh air. You’ll find countless examples at the Experience Centre and in our accommodation of how a truly– young person who cares for our planet – so that protecting our Earth is not just a lofty slogan, but can become a reality.

Special days

‘Who wants to go where?’ – comes the usual question.
Which Mum ignores, as changing the nappy of the ever-active Panna is a task that requires a great deal of concentration. 
‘Let’s go somewhere where there are loads of go-karts and we can have a go at shooting!’ suggests Bence.
‘I think we should go to the zoo or the play centre instead!’ Fanni shouts
‘I’m longing for a new experience; I’m looking for somewhere further afield that we haven’t been to yet!’ says Dad.
After waiting for a few minutes, the proud head of the family looks around with satisfaction.

Silence, and puzzled looks…
‘There’s no such thing!’ Mum chimes in.
For the Kovács family, it’s a real treat just to manage to find something suitable for all the children to do at the same time.
-A Tanya?
‘The lads are definitely going to be jealous of this,’ Bence says with a grimace.
But it might well be – you’ll see!
A few hours later, the family car pulls into the car park, where a small train pulled by a tractor passes by, crammed full of cheerful children. 
‘There’s Viola!’ cries Fanni. ‘Let’s wait for them!’
Fanni was Viola’s classmate at nursery; they’d long wanted to go on a trip together.
‘But it’s lovely that you’re here too!’ exclaims Viola. ‘Have you been here before?’
-Never.
Viola tells us how brilliant it was to go pedal boating on the lake, which you can even cross by hand-rowed boat. How her parents couldn’t find not only the hidden letters, but not even her, in the maze. Which is no surprise, as she slipped out through the emergency exit and was having a right old jump on the bouncy hill. And the ice lolly here is the tastiest, which you can even ask for in one of those really cool twisted glasses. 
‘Is there anything here that might interest me too?’ Bence interrupts the idyll.
-If I promised it, then that’s how it is!
"You can have a go at shooting sponge balls, and there’s a go-kart track too," his father reassured him.
-While Mum feeds Panni in the Mummy and Baby room, we can try both. 
-Your sister isn’t going to be joining us any time soon anyway; I saw her heading towards the petting zoo.
On the ‘hit-the-target’ battlefield, children and adults alike attack the opposing team with abandon. Yet the greatest joy comes when the soft sponge ball bounces off one’s own forehead.
After a big game, everyone fancies a bite to eat. To make sure my little sister gets a good night’s sleep, the family have lunch on the restaurant terrace. Without exception, everyone finds something to their taste on the menu.

Lunch while Mom mentions how many great craft ideas she saw in the display case. Cork rafts, paper flowers, rag dolls. Fanni is determined to make a wooden pendant with her little friend in the afternoon craft session. And it will be their symbol of friendship, so they will never forget the fun they had sliding from the dizzy heights and laughing among the colourful balls. They fed Bori, the little bari, from a bottle in the pet lair and were so happy when they finally got to pet one of the shy guinea pigs. 
‘And where are we off to next?’ asks Bence.
It’s unanimously agreed that no truly active day would be complete without exploring the forest zip line. All the more so because there are not only climbing courses here, but also sliding courses. During their last zip-line adventure, Dad promised Bence that next time he wouldn’t forget to film the big slide. 
"Thanks, Dad, I really didn’t think you’d take me to such a brilliant place!" said Bence gratefully. 
-It was a real treat for all of us; everyone had a great time here.
