ACTIVITIES DURING THE AUTUMN HOLIDAYS

- What will happen to the children?
- Where and how should the family spend their holidays together?
- Which programme or programmes should we choose?
- Or should the school holidays be spent with the grandparents instead?

Whatever happens, Katica Tanya could be a good choice, whether the little ones are spending their autumn half-term with their parents or their grandparents.
Significant days at the Ladybird Farm Leisure Centre Through our programme series of the same name, we aim to offer craft activities that reflect the folk traditions associated with every season, festival and occasion.
As part of this, we’ll be making scented candles together by twisting beeswax sheets, and those with a little more patience can find out how the candle takes shape as the wick is dipped into the hot wax.
And for those who’d like to give their creativity a go, they can decorate a candle using the napkin technique.
The youngest children can decorate the soft beeswax tea lights with tiny beads, or use watercolours to create their own candle designs.
And since it’s the autumn half-term, we mustn’t forget that round, orange-coloured fruit, which is an essential decorative feature of this season.
We’ll carve a pumpkin lantern, and the seeds that come out will be turned into a tasty treat. If that’s not enough for you, you can make a window decoration or a whole garland out of these charming shapes.
At Katica Farm, we believe it is important to pass on the knowledge and traditions of our ancestors. Every weekend, during our bread-baking and langalló-making sessions, young and old alike can experience what life was like back when these fragrant, crispy treats were still baked in home ovens.
How to turn wool into a colourful felt ball with a little soap and lots and lots of patience.
And we can even sew our own key rings featuring ladybirds and little horses from a piece of leather.
Anyone who has visited us will certainly have noticed that we constantly draw your attention to the importance of being environmentally conscious.
We sort our waste; we do not use gas, but we do use solar collectors and solar panels, and our heating is provided by a wood-fired and pellet boiler. We have our own constructed wetland sewage treatment system and rainwater harvesting system. Katica Tanya has its own drilled well, which covers our non-potable water consumption.
Focusing on protecting our environment every month, including this autumn ECO We look forward to welcoming visitors this weekend, when the focus will be on recycling. We’ll be making piggy banks, toy cars and flowers from bottle caps using PET bottles. And we’ll be turning the corks found in every household into patterned key rings.
That way, everyone can go home feeling good, thinking, „I’ve done something for the environment today”!
Anyone planning a visit to us should be aware that there is more to discover here than just the craft workshops on offer.
On a sunny autumn day, adults and children can race on our go-karts, slide down snow tubes, or have a sponge ball battle in the Telibe treasure hunt.  Jumping enthusiasts can bounce away on countless trampolines and bouncy hills. For those looking for a new challenge, the rope courses await, where you’ll want to try out the 120- or 190-metre-long zip lines.
Our palisade fortress, built in the medieval style, invites you on a journey through time. From its highest tower, there is a magnificent view of the Zselic countryside, with cows and their calves grazing on the lush pastures.
At our petting zoo, every member of the family can get to know the animals that live around the farm, as well as some more unusual ones, up close. During the late-afternoon cow milking, you can all have a laugh at the initially clumsy attempts, which are more than made up for by the taste of fresh, lukewarm cow’s milk.
A new addition is the Adventure Cave, where the days of the autumn half-term will fly by in a flash as children enjoy the climbing walls, board and table games, the trampoline, or even the mini bowling alley.

Reading all this, it seems that a single day isn’t even enough to cover all the activities on offer here.

The good news is that we’ve thought of that too!
In our cosy holiday apartments, anyone can feel right at home in this quiet little village. And for those who don’t want to leave their friends behind, or who fancy going hiking or on day trips, our communal accommodation options – tourist lodges that can accommodate 40 or 70 people – are available to rent.
The restaurant at Katica Tanya offers a varied à la carte menu, welcoming lovers of both traditional and speciality dishes from lunch through to dinner.
We are confident that anyone who visits us once will return time and time again to this enchanting world, where adults can be children once more, and children can marvel freely at the world’s little wonders.
