On the third weekend of January, we’ll be „wrapped up” in wool as we brace ourselves against the onslaught of the cold winter. You can make a woolly lamb, but you’ll also learn about the journey of wool: how does sheep’s wool become felt that we can use? Sheared wool is a great example of how we can benefit from animals whilst also doing them a favour. You can turn the wool into your very own lucky charm by making a felt ball with us. The wonderful world of wildlife encompasses everything that nature provides and everything that surrounds us.
Come rain or shine, you’ll always find something to do here. The Our Adventure Cave Its climbing walls and logic puzzles put your courage and knowledge to the test, whilst with our trampolines Not only can you show off your skills, but you might also feel a bit as though you’re flying amongst the birds in the open air. With New Year’s resolutions behind us – or perhaps even having already broken them – it’s time to relax a little. We look forward to welcoming you every day during the winter break! And after the winter break, we’ll be open every weekend, from Friday to Sunday, welcoming you with our usual great atmosphere and exciting programmes!
There’ll be no shortage of craft activities on the first weekend of the year. Candle holders, winter-themed paper-clip figures and sparkling stars await our visitors. And for those who haven’t tried it yet, this is your chance to learn the tricks of writing with a quill pen.

At Katica Farm You can plant Luca wheat and take part in matchmaking rituals if you come and visit us.
There are few special days associated with as many beliefs and customs as Luca's Day. This day was just as suitable for fertility rituals as it was for predicting marriage, death and the weather, for prohibiting certain women’s tasks, and, perhaps the best known of these: the making of the ‘lucaszék’, which was begun on 13 December using various types of wood.
The chair was to consist of 7 pieces and had to be ready for midnight mass on 25 December. It had to support the weight of a man. The maker would sneak the chair in for midnight mass and stand on it to catch a glimpse of the village witch.

It is no secret what our intention is on this day to lure Santa Claus away whilst he’s on his way Come and visit us here at Katica Farm! Saint Nicholas used the fabulous fortune he inherited from his parents to help the poor and children. There are several legends about his good deeds, and it is from these that the figure of Father Christmas was formed.
As well as the Father Christmas party, we’ll also be making reindeer from clothes pegs and snowflake window decorations this weekend.

To mark WORLD EARTH DAY, and in the spirit of our commitment to environmental education and environmental responsibility, the Green Support Ltd. environmental art competition advertised for pupils in the lower years of primary school.
The theme of the competition:
„From home, for the environment of our planet!”
Children can show how they contribute to protecting the environment in their daily lives through their drawings. The competition is an opportunity for creative, imaginative children who care about the environment and want to share what they are doing to protect our planet.
Deadline for submitting entries: 17 October 2024.
The drawings should be sent by post to the following address:

The competition is open to primary school pupils aged 6–10; each pupil may submit a maximum of one drawing. Entries may be created using any manual technique, but drawings must be A4 size. The entry form – which can be downloaded from our website – must be stuck to the back of the entry and must include the entrant’s personal details.

In both age groups, the top three entrants will receive a book voucher worth 10,000 forints, which can be used to purchase books on nature conservation and environmental protection.
The results will be announced on 21 October 2024, to mark World Day for Our Earth, and the winning entries will be published on the greensupport.hu website.

World Earth Day is an excellent opportunity to reflect on what we can do in our daily lives to combat global warming and protect our planet.
The aim of this World Day is to encourage people to take action, as it is only by joining forces, adopting an environmentally conscious lifestyle and practising responsible environmental protection that we can achieve our long-term goals.
Anyone who has visited us before will certainly have come across the Mobile phone shopwhere we collect second-hand mobile phones. And it’s no coincidence: In the autumn of 2019, we too joined the Jane Goodall Institute’s second-hand for its mobile phone collection campaign, and since then, Katica Tanya has been one of the initiative’s official collection points.
With the arrival of autumn, a new phase of the collection campaign begins. If you have an old, disused mobile phone at home that would otherwise end up in the bin, please bring it to the Teló collection point, where the We collect old appliances for recycling. Your good deeds will not go unrewarded: Every call you make is worth one dot on your Spotted Ladybird Club Card. We can award a maximum of 2 dots per person at any one time.
At Katica Farm, there are currently nearly 2.5 kg of mobile phones awaiting recycling, which we will send to the appropriate facilities at the end of each campaign phase.
