Although we weren’t able to welcome guests, life hasn’t stood still here over the past six months either. A lot has happened at Katica Tanya. Our livestock has grown: our youngest little lamb, Bendegúz, was born in February, whilst in April Lola, the donkey’s foal, was born and 20 little chicks hatched. The rabbits have also been breeding, as have the guinea pigs, so we’ve welcomed many new little families onto the farm.

However, we unfortunately have two pieces of sad news to share with you regarding our llama family. Zsófi, our youngest llama, recently passed away suddenly and without warning. We had barely recovered from this when Sacin, our other female llama, went into labour; however, despite the professional care and the efforts of our colleagues, she was unable to give birth to her calf, and we lost them both.  

We’ve been keeping animals for a long time and have experienced both births and deaths. Even though we know this is the cycle of life, the loss of our beloved pets is deeply distressing for us. We will cherish them in our hearts forever 🙁
