This weekend we celebrate St Michael’s Day, a farmers’ festival known throughout Europe. This day marks an important turning point in the agricultural year; in the Great Plain and around Eger, it signals the start of the grape harvest. On St Michael’s Day, the livestock that had been taken out to pasture on St George’s Day were brought back from the pastures.
To mark the occasion, we look forward to welcoming visitors with storytelling and other themed activities.
