We look forward to seeing you at the Chestnut Days!
October between 9 and 10 We’re looking forward to the Chestnut Days at Katica Farm! Come along and join us in making some really cute little treats! Chestnut elf, lucky chestnut spider We’ve got that up our sleeve!
Chestnuts are an essential part of autumn. There are all sorts of them. In Hungary, the two best-known varieties are the sweet chestnut and the horse chestnut.
Did you know?
The sweet chestnut was already cultivated by the Romans for its edible fruit. The tree can grow to a height of up to 30 metres. It is a delicious treat whether roasted or boiled. In Hungary, the most significant sweet chestnut groves are found in the Alpine foothills. The horse chestnut belongs to the genus Aesculus, which comprises around 15 species. Its common name is the horse chestnut. Its fruit is not edible; it is mainly used in medicine to treat venous and capillary circulation problems.
As well as our themed craft activities, our regular games are of course also available for you to enjoy. Have one last go at racing in the autumn sunshine on our electric go-karts!
